The main distinctive characteristic of Cortem Group is the experience gained in 50 years of activity in the Ex field which results not only in the supply of simple explosion-proof products, but also in engineered and customised solutions.
Cortem Group, formed by the brands Cortem, Elfit and Fondisonzo, is one of the most competitive companies of Oil & Gas. Since 1968, Cortem S.p.A. has been designing and manufacturing explosion-proof and water-proof electrical equipment addressed to hazardous areas. Thanks to a continuous effort in technical innovation and improvement, it is today a leader in this field, able to provide a whole range of products, meeting on-shore and off-shore applications. Through its several branches, agents and distributor, it is able to support its clients both technically and commercially.
Cortem Group electrical equipment are certified in accordance with the European standard ATEX, the International regulation IEC Ex, TR CU and INMETRO standards, and other national legoslation. Respecting these strict international construction rules, guarantees the safety of people and environment. Available in 'Ex db', 'Ex eb', 'Ex de', 'Ex nR' methods of protections, Cortem Group's products are realized using primary aluminium alloys, stainless steels and plastic materials that assure resistance and duration.
Cortem Group manufactures its products using modern processes, plants and qualified personnel.
The management system conforms to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 standard for the Quality System, to UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 for the environment and UNI EN ISO 45001:2018 for the Safety and Health.

Cortem S.p.A.
Cortem S.p.A. was established in 1968 with the acronym "Cor.tem" Constructions, technical electromechanical representation and it specialised immediately in production of electrical equipment for areas with danger of explosion and fire.
Cortem S.p.A. is proud of its experience of more than half a century in designing and manufacturing these equipment ATEX/IEC Ex certified.
Cortem products have reached a high technological level thanks to constant technical innovation.
Elfit S.p.A.
During the ’70s, Elfit S.p.A. company was founded in order to carry out some strategic processes internal to the company and to provide the market with complementary lighting products, such as electrical equipment, cable glands, junction boxes.
Since the beginning, Elfit becomes an important player of Oil&Gas field both in Italy and abroad with a high qualified brand. Today it’s specialized in foundry, mechanical workshop and manufacturing of fittings.
Fondisonzo
Fondisonzo company, a competitor in the same market segment since 1962, was acquired during the '90s.
Cortem became soon the technological point of reference for Italian explosion-protected equipment.
Fondisonzo is today a brand of Cortem Group.
