A little bit of Cortem Group also on the new plant that connects the Golar Tundra regasifier ship moored in Piombino to the onshore gas network

Supplied lighting fixtures and explosion-proof electrical fittings

The new system that connects the Golar Tundra, the new FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit) regasification vessel arrived in Piombino from Singapore and operational since May, has been equipped with the new LifEx series LED lighting fixtures suitable for installation in Atex zones classified as 1, 2, 21 and 22. The LifEx lighting fixtures were supplied in two models with different dimensions and lumen output for the lighting of the stairs equipped on board the ship and the connection pipeline between the quay and the existing ground system.

Elfit, a group company specializing in mechanical machining and in the production of explosion-proof electrical fittings, in addition to the aluminum alloy foundry business, supplied the components necessary for the construction of the electrical pipe system for connecting the ship to the existing gas network.

The function of the Golar Tundra will be that of a regasification plant, i.e. to return the liquefied gas (or LNG), transported at regular intervals by LNG carriers, to the gaseous state. It can store approximately 170,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas and of continuously regasifying 5 billion cubic meters a year, increasing the national regasification capacity.
